What is Luxury Vinyl Plank?


Luxury Vinyl Planks (LVP) are vinyl planks that have the appearance of hardwood floors. Since LVP are individual planks, they have the same lifelike texture as regular wood. The majority of luxury vinyl plank flooring is resistant to water and moisture, allowing it to be utilized in wet areas where natural hardwoods would rot quickly, such as bathrooms!

Keeping Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring Clean

If you have high traffic areas in your home, maintaining the appearance of your flooring is critical. Dry mopping or vacuuming daily will assist remove any grit that may cause scratches in these areas. Spills should be cleaned immediately to prevent stains from setting into those more difficult-to-reach areas on LVP/LVT surfaces.

1 - Remove Loose Dirt

Keeping dirt off of your luxury vinyl plank floors daily will help you avoid unsightly scratches and wear in your home. Dry mopping daily can assist in preventing stains produced by food or other substances!

2 - Choosing a Cleaner

Shaw recommends using Bona Tile and Laminate Cleaning or Shaw Floors Hard Surface Cleaner, among other products, when it comes to cleaning your flooring. I believe you'll be safer with these, especially if you're working with a luxury vinyl plank floor!

3 - Dry mop the floor

Using a dry mop or dust sweeping is an excellent way to keep your luxury vinyl plank floors clean. If you do this a lot, it can be very effective. Uses a swiveling head mop with woven fibers or microfibers on one end that can be picked up and shaken out after use to remove dirt from your floors. Because this process doesn't use water, there are no stains left on the surface that will dull its look over time.
